SPECIALTY PRODUCTS FOR HEAVY INDUSTRY AND HIGH PURITY FILTRATION

Intrabody Flow Distribution

KnightHawk has performed many failure analyses on transfer line exchanger applications. One common root cause has been poorly distributed flow in the inlet cone. Poor flow distribution can lead to Erosion, Fouling (Coking) plugging the tubes prematurely, Film boiling or Blistering. KHI has developed a proven methodology for analyzing these type problems to determine the root cause, but more importantly, KHI has developed a solution for most of these problems with an engineered product.

The Intrabody Flow Distributor is an engineered product which is custom designed for each transfer line exchanger application. Through the use of proprietary numerical analysis, we can solve your hot end problems by evenly distributing the flow across the tube sheet, which will eliminate most of the conditions that lead to erosion, corrosion, fouling and film boiling. The IFDs are constructed of high temperature cast alloy in order to survive the environment in the exchanger inlet. Our special slip joint anchor bolt design allows for thermal growth and eliminates fatigue concerns.
